BLOG: 2026

The 2026 season has been a rollercoaster of a year with many good points, but certainly its also some lows. Being a part of giant store Assen has been a big step forward for my cycling, allowing me to participate in a very strong UCI calendar and have a good level of support throughout the year.

It has been a hard year in the sense it doesn’t feel like I have an awful lot to show for it in terms of results. I have struggled a lot with illness and then unfortunate crashes. Whilst on the other hand I have managed to experience a lot this year from racing in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Poland. It would have been nice to have been able to piece it all together with a few results along the way. The year started of well after I secured a good 3 month bank of training in Spain over the winter which I intend to do again. I then went onto my first race of the year, Brussels Opwick U23, where I was involved in a crash after 20km, I then raced Rucphen UCI 1.2 where I finished 38th which was then shaping up to look like a good year. I was then selected for the Olympias tour which was really exciting as it was the biggest race we did as a team, but unfortunately with having no experience racing in the cross winds it resulted in a short race for me.

These photos were from team camp at the end of February in Girona where I meet the team for the first time!!!

I would say my most enjoyable race of the year would have been the races in Poland they suited me perfectly and it was cool to visit new a place, a result in the first race was unfortunately put to a stop with a big crash in the last 50m, the second race I was able to finish in the top 40 which was a better feeling after how the rest of the season had been going.

I finished of my season with a top 20 in one of the U23 road series and participating in Oost vlaanderen U23 stage race where I finished 12th on the last stage. This was a nice way to finish the season!!
